Roots Market is seeking both part and full time Meat Department Associates to help us provide our customers with the cleanest, local, healthful meats available. Butchering meat, fish, and poultry in a cost effective manner is key. Knife skills are a must and knowing at least the basics of restaurant butchering cuts is also a requirement. This is a volume production position and being quick and efficient is a requirement. Having knowledge of proper sanitation requirements, and packaging specifics is a must.

Responsibilities include stocking, merchandising, assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness of displays, cutting meat and fish, rotating product, recieving deliveries and more. There is some lifting involved (50lb's at most). Candidates for this position must be able to work a mixture of morning, day or evening shifts, including one weekend shift. This job is perfect for individuals who like to be hands-on, possess a great attention to detail and can multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

For full timers who work 40 hours a week health benefits, vacation time and a 401k are available. in store discounts and work acquired paid vacation. Compensation will be based on experience.

This job is perfect for individuals who are outgoing and like to be hands-on, have a great attention to detail, and have a passion for healthy and/or green living. -Monitor inventory and control loss by following proper stock rotation
-Maintain a professional and clean look to the department
-Ensure that all displays and items are well signed and correctly priced
-Maintain thorough knowledge of the products that the store carries
-Display excellent customer service skills
-Keep the aisles and displays full and neat
-Ensure that deliveries are received in a timely manner and invoices are processed promptly
-Produce a work schedule two weeks in advance that provides full coverage
